CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Burke County man was arrested for allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. According to court documents, Peck entered the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021, via the West Front. Documents say PEck used a flagpole to hit a Metropolitan Police Department officer. The alleged assault was captured on a body camera. Peck later sprayed another officer with an orange substance and grabbed another by his jacket collar while the officer struggled to breathe. Throughout the assault, body camera footage captured multiple rioters yelling "He can't breathe!" and "Let him go!". Queen City News is tracking CRI
