First Baptist Church filed a report of a possible embezzlement by an employee. After investigating, deputies arrested 57-year-old Carol Gomez on July 29. Officials say Gomez was the manager of the daycare facility, and allegedly stole around $16,000 over three years. Gomez has since posted her $25,000 bond for larceny by an employee. She is expected to be in District court on Aug. 5.
