(KRON) – The San Francisco Police Department announced a man suffered a fatal gunshot from an officer on Sunday.  Around 11:56 p.m. on Sunday, uniformed San Francisco police officers responded to the area of Willow Street and Van Ness Avenue for the report of an armed robbery. According to SFPD, the robbery occurred on McAllister Street.  Officers tried to contact an armed man carrying a firearm, police said. San Francisco PD said this encounter escalated the man being shot.
