BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) -- An inmate died at a Bastrop prison early Thursday morning, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice. Pelesasa Feiloaiga, 29, was found unresponsive at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Bastrop around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, the release said. Employees started life-saving measures and requested emergency medical services, but Feiloaiga was ultimately pronounced dead. Feiloaiga had been in custody at FCI Bastrop since Wednesday, July 17, 2024. He was sentenced to a 72-month sentence for Robbery of Auto, Carjacking, according to the DOJ. FCI Bastrop is a low security facility located off State Highway 95 in Bastrop. The
