Ernest Dykes, who was convicted of killing a 9-year-old boy in 1993, is expected to be released from prison next year with two years of probation. Keith Thomas, sentenced to death in 1997, will receive 23 years to life in prison. But having served 31 years, Thomas will be up for parole.
