Several homes were destroyed in a 1,150-acre wildfire that ignited Saturday in eastern Arapahoe County amid a stretch of record-setting high temperatures in Colorado. Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown said a total of eight structures were affected by the blaze, but he didn’t know Saturday afternoon how many of those were homes and how many were secondary structures. The sheriff’s office, however, posted on social media that multiple homes had burned. First responders were called to 2400 block of South Quail Hollow Road in Byers at about 10 a.m. on reports of a fire.
