CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A 2-alarm fire damaged 24 apartment units in southwest Charlotte early Friday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department. The large fire broke out just before 2:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, at an apartment complex located in the 7600 block of Holliswood Court, just off of South Tryon Street. As firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the top of the building. It took 60 firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control.
