GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A deputy with the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office died recently while on duty.  The sheriff’s office says that Deputy Phillip J. Maxwell suffered a medical emergency while working in the detention facility. He was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.  Two juveniles injured in double shooting in Gastonia: Police Maxwell served both the people of Gaston County and the nation.
