The Mercedes-Benz CLK320 hit the 31-year-old Vista man shortly before 1:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, west of El Camino Real, according to the California Highway Patrol. The pedestrian died at the scene, CHP public affairs Officer Hunter Gerber said. The victim’s name was withheld pending family notification.
