CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - A proclamation during Tuesday evening's Mecklenburg County Commissioners meeting in support of Pride Month failed to gather enough votes with those voting against it citing procedural issues with a heated exchange between commissioners. Pat Cotham attempted to pass the proclamation. Board Chairman George Dunlap and Commissioner Elaine Powell voted against the motion citing procedural issues. The motion would have had to have been unanimously approved. Cotham said during the meeting she attempted to get the proclamation added to the agenda on Friday. but failed.
