The Florida Panthers secured a decisive victory over the Edmonton Oilers with a final score of 4-1. This impressive win showcased the Panthers' strong offensive capabilities and solid defense, further solidifying their position as a formidable team in the National Hockey League.
One key factor in the Panthers' success was their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. With goals from multiple players, including top scorers like Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov, the team demonstrated their depth and skill on the ice.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 18 shots for Florida, which was 1-8 all-time in Cup final games before this series started — and now is two wins away from capturing its first championship. Score through two games: Florida 7, Edmonton 1.
“A six-man job against the best players in the world,” Ekblad said.

Mattias Ekholm opened the scoring for Edmonton on his team’s first shot on goal midway through the first period, beating Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky for the first time this series after the Panthers won 3-0 in Game 1.
Florida’s Niko Mikkola tied it midway through the second.
Aaron Ekblad added an empty-netter for Florida.
The Oilers lost forward Warren Foegele after he was given a game misconduct in the first period for a knee-on-knee hit on Eetu Luostarinen.
Darnell Nurse saw little ice time after he appeared to injure his hip following a hit by Rodrigues in the first.
The Panthers, meanwhile, lost captain Aleksander Barkov after he was hurt on a penalized high hit by Leon Draisaitl in the third period.
The Oilers pulled Skinner for an extra attacker with 5:53 left and went on the power play not long after when Ekman-Larsson shot the puck over the glass. However, the Oilers couldn’t break through. Aaron Ekblad scored into an empty net with 2:28 to go.
“We gotta be better,” said McDavid. “I thought they went up a level and we didn’t match it today.”
Darnell Nurse barely played after taking a hit from Rodrigues in the first period. Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov didn’t return after taking an elbow from Leon Draisaitl halfway through the third.
