Scotland secured a crucial victory in their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Gibraltar. The match, played at the Victoria Stadium, saw Scotland dominate possession and create numerous scoring opportunities.
The first goal came in the 10th minute when Che Adams capitalized on a defensive error to slot the ball past the Gibraltar goalkeeper. Scotland continued to press forward and were rewarded with a second goal in the 30th minute, courtesy of John McGinn's well-placed header.
Gibraltar are the opponents in the Algarve sun as Steve Clarke gets the chance to work on things ahead of the tournament opener with this the first of two friendlies being used to get his squad up to speed. Injury problems have been mounting up for the boss and he will be looking at different solutions.
With less than two weeks until the big kick off against hosts Germany on June 14, the 27 players remaining in the provisional squad will be looking to do all they can to be on the plane. Friday night is when the final squad list must be published and Clarke will be considering whether to bring anyone else in too.

Not wanting to be undone, freshly-promoted Premier League attacker Adams emerged from the bench and, with time running down, was found with a great pick-out by John McGinn to put the laces right through his shot, which flew off his boot into the top corner.
Gibraltar struggled to break down Scotland's defense and failed to create any clear-cut chances throughout the match. Scotland's solid defensive display ensured that they kept a clean sheet and secured all three points.
This victory puts Scotland in a strong position in their qualifying group and boosts their chances of securing a spot in the World Cup. The team will be looking to build on this performance as they continue their quest for qualification.
