Bombers suffered a disappointing 31-10 loss to the Calgary Stampeders in a recent CFL matchup. The Bombers, who came into the game with high expectations after a strong start to the season, were unable to overcome a dominant performance by the Stampeders. The game was marked by poor execution on both sides of the ball for the Bombers. Quarterback Zach Collaros struggled to find his rhythm, completing just 17 of 31 passes for 191 yards and throwing two interceptions. The Bombers' defense also had trouble containing the Stampeders' offense, allowing Calgary to score at will throughout the game.Despite their best efforts, the Bombers were unable to mount a comeback in the second half. The Stampeders' defense shut down any attempts at a rally, holding Winnipeg scoreless in the final two quarters.Overall, it was a tough loss for the Blue Bombers as they look to bounce back and regain their winning form in future matchups.
Bombers coaches and management one last look at their roster hopefuls before final cuts, as the team chose to sit all of their starters on offence and defence from last season and fielded a very young group.
Calgary played many of their regulars during Friday’s game.
The Bombers could only muster 121 yards of net offence and just seven first downs with four turnovers. The Stamps led by a wide margin in time of possession by almost 13 minutes, and the Bombers gave up a sack in the end zone for a safety.

Calgary and Winnipeg was the complete opposite of that.
The Blue Bombers dressed an extremely inexperienced roster on Friday, a decision that was made presumably due to the team’s tight turnaround ahead of the regular season. Liam Dobson, Eric Lofton, Miles Fox, Tyrique McGhee, and Tyrell Ford are the only projected starters who played on Friday, plus whoever wins the open receiver spot. Of those mentioned, Lofton is the only one who’s been a full-time starter in the CFL before.
After Wilson was intercepted by Calgary defensive back Tyler Richardson, quarterback Kyle Vantrease was at the helm and the drive ended with Fair’s 18-yarder at 7:00 to make it 24-10.
Bellamy pushed in for a one-yard score at 8:33.
