Bhubaneswar: In view of the IMD’s prediction of likely formation of low pressure area over southwest Bay of Bengal around May 22, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued a warning to fishermen, urging them not to venture into Bay of Bengal from May 23 onwards. SRC and Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu wrote a letter to Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department and Collectors of Ganjam, Puri, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak and Balasore. The SRC said that the IMD has intimated that in association with likely depression over Bay of Bengal based on 0830 hours IST of 20th May, 2024, a low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal around 22nd May,
