The Governor of South Sinai, Khaled Fouda announced that development of the Wadi Firan/Saint Catherine checkpoint road, covering a total length of 100 square kilometers, has been now completed. Development included widening the road to 25 meters, with three lanes in each direction, at a cost exceeding two billion LE, he added. This project aims to facilitate and shorten the distance for visitors entering Saint Catherine’s City, considering the city’s reliance on day-trip and weekend tourism.
