Accor has doubled its portfolio of MGallery hotels in Japan, with the opening of the Kyoto Yura Hotel Nijo Jo Bettei MGallery, the second in the country. The luxury boutique hotel was designed by Yukio Hashimoto and is centred around a Japanese garden. The hotel offers a collection of 25 rooms, from the 40-45 square metre Deluxe Room, to the 53 square metre Rikyu Suite. Select rooms feature balconies with views towards Nijo Castle and all rooms overlook the Japanese gardens. The hotel's restaurant and bar, Singular, will specialise in French cuisine, inspired by Japan's beauty and the rich culinary traditions of Kyoto.
