Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has grieved the death of two persons in a boat accident in river Mahanadi near Saradha under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district. The Chief Minister has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the next kin of the deceased. The CM has also directed the district administration to provide proper treatment to all the rescued persons and wished them a speedy recovery. RDC, Jharsuguda Collector and SP are currently supervising the rescue operations. The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary and SRC to coordinate rescue operations.
