The Oceanside Police Department said the collision occurred at about 9 p.m. when a gold Nissan Murano heading east on Mission Avenue collided with the pedestrian who was crossing the road about 100 yards west of Ocean Puente. Sgt. Clint Bussey said the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle stopped and was cooperative with law enforcement, the sergeant said.
