YOUNGSTOWN – A production of “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” that will mix professional actors with local talent will kick off Youngstown Playhouse’s 100th anniversary season. The Playhouse announced plans for its centennial season at a live event Saturday at the community theater located off Glenwood Avenue. “Beautiful” will be staged Aug. 23 to 25 at Powers Auditorium and directed by Matthew Mazuroski. John Cox, president of the Playhouse’s board, said they will be bringing in a performer with national tour experience to play King, an inductee into both the Rock & Roll and Songwriters halls of fame.
