A Covelo man was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend while she was calling authorities to report being assaulted by him, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 25600 block of Mendocino Pass Road in Covelo after a woman, identified as 35-year-old Brandy Kay Mathieson, called 911 around 5:30 a.m. March 20 to report that her boyfriend assaulted her and was in her house with a firearm.
