The Golden State Warriors emerged victorious in a dominant performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, winning by a staggering 35-point margin with a final score of 125-90. The Warriors showcased their offensive prowess, shooting an impressive 55% from the field and connecting on 16 three-pointers. Stephen Curry led the charge with a game-high 30 points, while Klay Thompson added 25 points of his own. The Warriors' defense was equally impressive, holding the Bucks to just 38% shooting and forcing 15 turnovers. Draymond Green anchored the defense with his tenacious play and timely blocks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge for the Bucks with a stellar performance, scoring 30 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Khris Middleton also had a standout game, contributing 25 points and 8 assists. The Warriors struggled to keep up with the Bucks' relentless attack, as their defense faltered under pressure.
Khris Middleton, who is recovering from a sprained ankle. Damian Lillard had an outstanding performance for the Bucks, scoring 41 points and tallying four assists and four rebounds.
The Warriors are coming off a huge road 140-88 loss against the Boston Celtics, which extended their win streak to 11. Steph Curry had his fewest points of the season, scoring only four points in 17 minutes of play before departing and not reentering the game. Lester Quinones led the Warriors with 17 points, followed by Moses Moody with 11 points against the Celtics.
It is important to note that Middleton only needs to play for a second in each of those games – the 20-minute threshold instituted by the NBA for a game to count toward regular season awards does not apply to contract bonuses. Fans may remember former Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday playing eight seconds against Cleveland in 2022 to trigger a bonus.
Whether Middleton earns his bonus will also not affect whether the Bucks are over the second “tax apron,” as they are over it anyway. It will only affect the Bucks’ 2023-24 luxury tax payment and his cap hit for 2024-25.
Steve Kerr will continue to jumble his rotations the rest of the way. He has had to do that in the past, but because of injuries and lack of production. He’ll be doing it now because he finally has a full healthy roster and has plenty of options.
