In a highly anticipated Manchester derby, Manchester City emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over their rivals, Manchester United. The match was filled with intensity and excitement as both teams fought hard for the coveted three points.
City took an early lead through goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez, showcasing their attacking prowess and dominance on the field. Despite United pulling one back through Marcus Rashford, City continued to press forward and sealed the victory with a goal from Ilkay Gundogan.
City trailed 1-0 at halftime after Marcus Rashford’s rasping long-range strike in the eighth minute and a glaring miss from the prolific Haaland from barely two meters out.

With a City win, the Sky Blues tie Liverpool in points atop the league table and draw closer to an uncontested first place spot by adding to their goal differential. Manchester City are looking to win their fourth straight Premier League title this season.
Despite leading at halftime through a stunning goal from Marcus Rashford, United had no response when Phil Foden struck twice in the second half and Haaland made amends for an earlier miss from point blank range to seal the win.
This had been a chance to make an early statement under the regime of British billionaire Ratcliffe whose investment has secured him control of the club’s soccer operations.
Instead it highlighted the gulf between the rivals.
Alex Ferguson’s vow to do likewise to a once dominant Liverpool.
Burnley, meanwhile, is still waiting for a win of any description since the turn of the year and a latest loss pushed Vincent Kompany’s team closer to relegation.
Bournemouth hadn’t won since beating Tottenham on New Year’s Eve and moved 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
Defeat extended Burnley’s winless from to 10 games in all competitions and left it 11 points adrift of safety.
