KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) – The Kearney Public Schools (KPS) Athletics Department announced the hiring of Drew Danielson as the new head coach for the Bearcat girls basketball program Tuesday. He will start in the fall of 2024. The position has been open since Kearney’s previous girls basketball coach, JD Carson, resigned in November following accusations of inappropriate behavior. Chris Pocock was elevated to interim coach for the rest of the season. The Bearcats finished the year with a 12-11 record.
