Former Ottawa Senators forward Alex Formenton, who was granted a leave of absence by Swiss club Ambri Piotta last week, has been charged in London, Ontario, for an undisclosed offense connected to an alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman in June 2018. Formenton’s attorney, Daniel Brown, told the Associated Press Sunday his client had turned himself in. “Alex will vigorously defend his innocence and asks that people not rush to judgment without hearing all of the evidence,” Brown said.
