The Mendocino Coast Audubon Society welcomes Christine Damiani for her two presentations on the Behren’s Silverspot Butterfly. The first presentation will be on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 3 p.m., at the Ohlson Ranch House in Gualala; and the second presentation will be on Monday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m., at the Caspar Community Center in Caspar. The Behren’s Silverspot is an endangered Mendocino butterfly on the edge of extinction. Most of its habitat has either been developed or degraded, and official surveys in 2020 recorded zero butterflies with only one confirmed incidental sighting.
