To the Editor: The Adventist Health care system proports to have the physical, mental and spiritual health of local residents as its mission. As a Medicare recipient, I’m unaffected by the recent decision of Adventist to terminate its contract with Blue Shield insurance company, but many – how many? – I don’t know, but we should learn – Mendocino County residents are now without the already somewhat compromised level of medical care needed here. Adventist should live up to their mission and accept Blue Shield from those who, in good faith, purchased it. That would be so much more “spiritual” than proselytizing to its patients. -Leslie Kirkpatrick, Ukiah
