Drew Lock vs. Eagles

Sport by : (PRESSBEE) -

Drew Lock, the young and promising quarterback, against the Philadelphia Eagles was met with both excitement and skepticism. Lock, known for his strong arm and ability to make big plays, had shown glimpses of his potential in previous games. However, some doubted whether he was ready to take on a formidable opponent like the Eagles.

While Smith is active, general manager John Schneider said on the pregame show on Seattle Sports 710AM that it was not certain who would start with an hour remaining until kickoff.

Devon Witherspoon (hip) and safety Jamal Adams (knee) are both inactive after being listed as questionable.

Also inactive after being listed as questionable is receiver Dee Eskridge, who will miss a third straight game with a rib injury. Linebacker and special teams captain Nick Bellore is active after being listed as questionable with a knee injury.

After missing a Week 14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers due to an injured groin, Smith was questionable for Monday's game due to the lingering injury. However, after limited work in practice through the week, he was stunningly on the active roster, though apparently not healthy enough to start.

Once again in Smith's place, Lock will start.

Pete Carroll's career.

Smith has thrown for 2,918 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 12 games so far this season.

Lock was 22 of 31 for 269 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in his Week 14 start, a 28-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Carroll sounded optimistic Thursday about the progress Smith was making, saying he "feels really good." Smith, though, sounded uncertain the next day when asked whether he would play against the Eagles, saying, "We'll see." The Seahawks listed him as a limited participant all week.

The Seahawks (6-7) have lost four straight games for the first time since Carroll became their coach in 2010. According to ESPN Analytics, they have a 32% chance to make the playoffs entering Monday night's game. That would improve to 55% with a win and drop to 16% with a loss.

Drew Lock's starting role against the Philadelphia Eagles proved to be a wise decision by the coaching staff. His performance demonstrated not only his individual talent but also his ability to lead a team effectively. As he continues to develop as a quarterback, it is clear that he has a bright future ahead of him in the NFL.
