Tampa’s Masonite International Corp. — a global interior and exterior door manufacturer — acquired a rival Gulf Coast company for $3 billion. The company announced Monday that it bought PGT Innovations, a Venice-based producer of weather-resistant doors, garages and windows. The $3 billion sale would be financed with cash and Masonite shares, the announcement said. The deal will combine two of the region’s largest public companies.
