Local East African communities partnered with CBC Calgary last weekend to launch a new, community-driven storytelling project with a celebration of culture, fashion, art and food. With over 600 in attendance, everyone was well fed by a few of the city’s best-loved African restaurants and catering businesses. Central Halal Restaurant on 17th Avenue S.E. brought Somali dishes, EC Fusion & Lounge specializes in Ethiopian and Eritrean Cuisine, and MJ’s African Food store offers catering.
