Arsenal will be looking to prove they can go one better in the title race this term as they host defending champions Man City in this top-of-the-table clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite some inconsistent displays, the Gunners are unbeaten so far in the English Premier League, but come into this key game off the back of a 2-1 away defeat to Lens in the Champions League.
Table-toppers City will meanwhile be hoping to get back to winning ways after back-to-back domestic defeats to Newcastle and Wolves. 
Which way this game swings will likely depend on how both sides manage without key stars. City will be missing the rock that is midfielder Rodri, while Arsenal will have to make do without attacking pair Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Mikel Arteta sent on Martinelli at halftime and three other players introduced from the bench were involved in the game-winning moment four minutes from time.
Thomas Partey’s raking ball was won by Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havetz held up play expertly and Martinelli drove home via a wicked deflection off Nathan Ake to hand City back-to-back Premier League defeats for the first time since December 2018. 
You have to go three years further back to find Arsenal’s previous league win against City and Emirates Stadium descended into raptures as the final whistle ended 12 consecutive defeats in this top-flight matchup.
Declan Rice cleared off the line before Nathan Aké blazed over moments later.
"No team has ever won four [titles] in a row," Guardiola said. "Defeats can happen, but we are in October. Sometimes it is good going behind. It is not the first time going behind for the contenders up front last season we were much, much behind. The season is long. We recover people coming back, try to break [the losing run] immediately as soon as possible against tough opponents like Brighton and United. You know the situation and continue."
City know they can last the course. But Arsenal now have more belief than ever they could yet do the same.
