To the editor, The Wood County Health Department closed my business, Yum Yummy, in August. We received a phone call from the department on July 28 at 3 p.m. about the shutdown that the board had already decided. We received letters on Aug. 16 but the shutdown was Aug. 15. (The letter was signed on Aug. 12.) The open light shut off. We waited for details until Aug. 27 but we refused customers who asked us to cook. Department employees have not provided proof that someone reported we were open and serving food after closing.
