Jeannie Mai are divorcing.
Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, filed for divorce from Mai on Thursday at an Atlanta courthouse after two years of marriage.
According to the filing, the rapper said "the marriage is irretrievably broken" and "there is no hope for reconciliation." Jeezy and Mai both have a prenup in place.
Georgia home in 2021, where they held an intimate ceremony.
“We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate,” Mai told Vogue in April 2021. “But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”
Hoi An, Vietnam in April 2020, but was forced to change his plans after COVID canceled the trip.
"When Jeezy proposed to me, he decorated his condo to look like Hoi An. It brought the memories of our engagement full circle when we were finally in Hoi An for the first time," Jenkins said of their anniversary vacation.
The couple first met on the set of Jenkins’ daytime talk show The Real, and quietly started dating in November 2018. They eventually took their romance public in August 2019.
"We both went through enough in our life to connect on the understanding that love should feel safe, honest, and pure," Jenkins told PEOPLE that November. "Immediately, that was a magnetic attraction. We are very attracted to each other's passions to serve. So because we have a mutual joy of having purpose, we're going to find a way to do that together."
The couple celebrated their 2-year anniversary with a trip to Vietnam, according to People.com.
A recent post by Jeezy on Instagram seems to reference the divorce saying "Too focused on who I'm becoming to focus on who's not coming with me."
