Sambalpur: The Hirakud dam authorities will release the flood water from the reservoir into the river Mahanadi at around 4 pm today. This has been informed by Additional Chief Engineer, Hirakud Headworks & Additional Spillway. Burla. “Due to upstream rainfall and resulting inflow, the release of flood water from Hirakud Reservoir will be made into the river Mahanadi at around 16.00 hrs. on dt. 13.09.2023. It is hereby requested to take necessary measures to see that the river bed, downstream of Hirakud Dam is cleared as safety measure against life and property”, the Additional Chief Engineer mentioned in a notice.
