Gary Wright has died after a long battle with his health ... TMZ has learned.
 Palos Verdes Estates, CA -- which is in the South Bay. We're told he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's about 5 or 6 years ago, as well as Lewy body dementia shortly thereafter.
Born in 1943 in New Jersey, Wright played keyboards on record by B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson and Ronnie Spector and in the late ’60s formed band the New York Times who soon changed their name to Spooky Tooth and ran from 1967 to 1974 and while co-leading that band also played on George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass. After Spooky Tooth, Wright struck solo paydirt with 1975’s The Dream Weaver, one of the first rock albums to be made almost entirely with synthesizers. The title track and “My Love is Alive” both reached #2 in the US.
Gary's Parkinson's progressed rapidly over the past year, and Justin says his dad eventually lost the ability to move around and speak. Over the past few days, we're told, nurses who were working at Gary's home told the family he was entering his final chapter.

Though primarily for his two iconic 1970’s songs, the musician’s discography extends way beyond that, such as playing keyboards on former Beatles member, George Harrison’s album ‘All Things Must Pass’ which has been cited as one of the greatest albums of all time.
His own discography included over 12 albums, various compilations, as well as collaborations with other musicians, which alongside Harrison, included Ringo Starr, BB King and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Taking to producing film scores in the 1980’s, including re-recording his song ‘Dream Weaver’ for the 1992 comedy film ‘Wayne’s World’. In addition, he was known for bringing out synthesisers, at a time when the instrument was not favoured in rock music and popularising it.
