August 21, 2023 (NYALA) – Up to 50,000 people have been displaced in the recent renewed clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Nyala town of South Darfur State, the United Nations said. The clashes, which started on August 11, has seen 60 people killed and 250 injured. According to the UN humanitarian agency (UNOCHA), trucks loaded with relief supplies are unable to travel to Nyala town due to fighting, while staff at the Turkish hospital are overwhelmed by the numbers of injured people in need of assistance.
