Eleanor Fern Barnes, 80, of Grand Rapids, Ohio passed away July 29, 2023. She was born November 29, 1942 to the late David and Ruby (Sidle) Gallagher. She married Delmar “Barney” Barnes on June 21, 1997 and he survives in Grand Rapids. Eleanor loved gardening and won Gardner of the Year for several of her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed collecting anything gingerbread and decorating cakes. She was the queen of hospitality and was always taking care of others by visiting or providing meals. She served as a counselor to battered women. Eleanor was an encourager to many and was always giving. She attended Bethany Baptist Church and loved sharing the word of Jesus and made the most of every day.
