Christopher Eubanks is living a ‘pinch-me’ moment at Wimbledon. The American booked his ticket to his first major quarter-final Monday when he upset World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas. The 27-year-old is finding out that his breakthrough at The All England Club comes with a few benefits outside of a spot in the last eight and a US$437,410 payday.

Kim Clijsters, who gave him advice on how to succeed.

After losing in the second round of an ATP Challenger in Surbiton last month, he sent a WhatsApp message to Clijsters.

After spending much of his career toiling around 150-200 in the world rankings, late bloomer Eubanks is punching above his weight after already beating Cam Norrie at Wimbledon and the 27-year-old is now the last American standing in the men’s singles draw.

‘The entire experience all together has just been a whirlwind,’ said this year’s breakout star from Atlanta, Georgia. ‘It's been something that you dream about. But I didn't really know if that dream would actually come true. I'm sitting here in it now… so it's pretty cool.’

The 27-year-old has been one of the surprise packages of the tournament, as it's the furthest he's ever gone in a Grand Slam. But he was pushed to the limit by Tsitsipas, who led the match 2-1 in sets before Eubanks fought back.

Miami Open after finally hitting the top 100, but he could jump even further if he beats Medvedev.

Before Wimbledon 2023, he only had two Grand Slam match wins—ever. Now, he's upset Stefanos Tstsipas and Cam Norrie to make it to the quarterfinals. In March, he was ranked outside the top 100, and by the end of the tournament, he'll reach a career high ranking. After beating Tsitsipas in a thrilling five-set match 3-6, 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, he said, "I feel like I'm living a dream right now."

“He played great against me. It was a very tough match. I was on fire. I managed to beat him. But it was a tough one. Here, he’s on fire again. He just won his first ATP title. Here in the quarters beating Stefanos in five sets, unbelievable. I know I need to be at my 100% and absolute best physically, tennis-wise, and mentally to try to beat him.”
