After the resignation of the former tribal leader, Mohamed Hamid al-Jedi, for health reasons, the Bani Hussein tribe split into two groups, one of which supports the new nazir, Mohamed Ismail Adam appointed by the state government, while the other group opposes his leadership of the tribe.
