The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) approached the Delhi High Court on Friday against an order of the Lokpal of India directing a CBI investigation against its officials on the basis of a complaint about alleged illegal and unauthorised constructions in the city. Justice Prathiba M Singh, while refusing to pass an interim order of stay "at this stage" deferred the hearing till January 5. She asked the counsel for the petitioner to serve a copy of the petition to the Lokpal in the meantime.
