December 14, 2022 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir on Wednesday met the governor of Darfur region in Sudan, Mini Arko Minawi to discuss security, promotion of trade as well as investment along the borders of the two countries. The meeting, held in the South Sudanese capital, Juba also discussed the status of the implementation of Juba Peace Agreement signed between the Sudanese government and the armed groups in October 2020. Kiir’s security advisor, Tut Gatluak Manime said Minawi briefed the South Sudanese leader on the general political situation in the Sudan and on the status of implementation of the Juba Peace accord.
