Mr. Briggs begins by quoting from the ballot initiative language for Measure P, establishing that it is a general tax, from which he concludes that the County will spend it “as they see fit.” Mr. Briggs appears unaware of the history of Measure P: Before it was put on the ballot, the Board of Supervisors also unanimously passed Resolution 22-159, which specifies how the money will be used through specific allocations of 90 percent of the funds to our fire departments (and 10% to fire-prevention work), according to allocations agreed upon by our County
