John Gordon was the founder and first mayor of Gordonsville, Tennessee.  Last year, a descendant of Phillis Gordon, Dr. Princess Gordon-Aziz, found a document while conducting genealogical research at the Tennessee State Museum that traced their roots back to Gordonsville, Tennessee.
