Emergency responders reported to a call around 11:30 a.m. at the 900 block of Dixon Springs Highway on Wednesday, May 10, 2022 involving a dump truck loaded with gravel and a passenger vehicle. Smith County Rescue, Smith County EMS, Smith County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Riddleton Fire Department worked together to secure the scene, direct traffic, extricate and treat the driver of the passenger vehicle. The driver of the passenger vehicle, who was identified as Hazel Farley, 72, was then airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center for additional care. The crash remains under investigation.
